The Internet has given customers increasing power. For every company, one percent of customers are either critics or evangelists. For example, on Amazon, 1% of consumers post reviews. On Microsoft’s Channel 9 website, 1% of the company’s customers and employees post comments. On Wikipedia, 1% of users create and edit articles. The problem is that you do not know who they are. Consequently, in EVERY interaction, you MUST deliver a positive customer experience that exceeds expectations. The Internet remembers forever.
