Social Selling with Socedo

Social Selling with Socedo

Today, I had the honor and privilege of introducing social selling startup Socedo at “Demo Day.” Demo Day is the finale to the Microsoft Accelerator Powered by TechStars program. Socedo helps both companies and sellers leverage social media to build relationships and discover leads more effectively. Below was my introduction.

“I have been in software sales and sales leadership for the last 15 years. Most recently, I spent 12 years at Microsoft in the company’s enterprise and mid-market field sales organizations. I am currently at a startup called 2nd Watch that sells enterprise cloud services to large- and medium-sized companies.

It used to be that buyers had to talk to sellers to get the information they needed to make informed decisions. Today, the Internet has changed that. Buyers can now do a Google or Bing search; pick the top three vendors; read about their products; determine pricing; and decide if there is a fit. Buyers can also try most products for free and network with existing customers already using them. In fact, some statics say that buyers can be 60%-70% through the decision-making process before ever speaking to a seller. Then question then is, how then can companies and sellers compete in an era where buyers have so much information at their fingertips?

That is why I am here today. To introduce to you a very exciting new company – Socedo. I have been working with both Assem and Kevin for the past three months. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about helping sellers be more successful even though the Internet continues to give buyers more and more power.

A second ago I asked, how then can companies and sellers compete in an era where buyers have so much information at their fingertips? The answer is to engage early in the decision-making process and share with buyers the right information and knowledge to earn them as customers. Today, sales and marketing it is about earning customers, not buying them. Socedo is building the tools for sellers to effectively and efficiently facility those activities. Socedo is helping sellers target customers, identify buying signals and engage early. It is now my honor and my privilege to introduce to you Assem Badshah, CEO and Co-Founder, of Socedo!’

Lessons Learned
* The Internet has greatly empowered buyers.
* Socedo enables sellers to effectively and efficiently target customers, identify buying signals and engage early.
* Sellers must engage with buyers early in the decision-making process and work to earn them as customers.
