Are All Managers Leaders?
by Josh Lowry

No. While some managers are leaders, others either cannot or do not lead. What distinguishes the two? Management is a subset of leadership, not its equivalent. Managers are good at setting-up, monitoring and maintaining systems and processes. However, if managers cannot bring out better performance in people or take an organization or team beyond where it is today, they are not leading. Leadership involves constant change, growth and improvement. Managers do things right. Leaders do the right things. Remember, you manage things, but lead people.
