Leading by Example

Leading by Example

People are mirror reflections of their leaders. If the leader sets the right (or wrong) example, people will emulate them. People do what people see. Doing has far greater influence than saying – people hear what leaders do. Leading by example is the most powerful form of influence. If what the leader does contradicts what they say, their influence decreases. Effective leaders know that everything they do and say has symbolic value and is analyzed. When people look at you as a leader, what do they see? What type of example are you setting for them?
