Judgment Day: Results, Not Effort

Judgment Day: Results, Not Effort

Contribution is not determined by how many hours you spend at work, but how you spend the hours.

In business, success is a results contest. Achieving the right results requires consistently doing the right things. Just because you go to work every day does not mean that you are getting the right things done. In fact, participating in activities like going to meetings, returning emails/voicemails, etc. in and of themselves does no lead to the right results (although they can take up most, if not all, of your day). Delivering the right results requires always focusing on the highest impact, highest value things first. Remember, you are judged by your results, not your effort.
